I found it very difficult to choose a hammer drill as the stores do not let you try their display items (health and safety) and I wanted one to drill through some engineering bricks which are quite hard. I did not want one of the heavy ones as this would limit the use but these seem to give the better hammer action, which I guess is the Joules they quote. From the reviews this drill seemed to fit the bill. Unfortunately when I used it I was dissapointed with the hammer action and at 1.5 Joules it is a bit lightweight. Otherwise the drill is excellent but for my application I seem to need at least 3 Joules.
