Samsung N145 Plus 10.1-inch netbook Low Price – New Review

Samsung N145 Plus 10.1-inch netbook Review

I got this mainly for when I go camping, but now use it all the time at home. It’s a nifty little netbook; I installed Ubuntu, as I wanted to use Open Office (painless from a USB stick). It’s really small and fast. 9 times out of 10 I just use this instead of my desktop if I just want to check my email, Facebook or a website (though be warned — you might end up ordering more stuff from Amazon than ever!). I even take it with me shopping (it fits in my jacket pocket), and is great for having a surf in MCD’s. Several times, I’ve been in the shops wondering whether to buy something then checked the prices and reviews on Amazon whilst having something to eat and a cuppa! ))

The keyboard is a little fiddly for typing (compared to a laptop), but not bad enough (once used to it) to need a USB KB. It’s perfect for camping with, as I’ve also bought a cigarette lighter inverter (lets you plug it into the car for charging!), and quite a few campsites have wi-fi, and if not then I just buy a PAYG Dongle topup, so I’m never out of touch. Battery life (as someone else mentioned) isn’t 10 hours. Doing docs and the odd email, I get through about 6-7 hours. It’s not a problem, though. I just plug it in when I’m driving around and keep it plugged in until it’s fully charged again (the inverter cuts out before it drains your car battery).

All in all I’d highly reccomend this. Far more practical than a laptop, and nearly as useful. Wouldn’t leave home without it now.
